Before the pandemic affected us all we regularly had requests from local businesses and other staff teams who were interested in taking part in a volunteer activity, perhaps as part of their own team building or staff development whilst giving something back to their local community.

It’s great to see that over recent weeks we are once again being asked about these type of activities so it would be really helpful for us to know if your organisation could benefit from a volunteer team who could come along and undertake a day’s volunteering with you?  We appreciate that facilitating and hosting an Employer Supported Volunteering (ESV) activity takes time to plan but the benefits to your organisation can make it really worthwhile.  ESV activities typically involve tasks that require only basic skills and are things where a group of people can pitch up on the day and get stuck straight in with the host organisation providing any equipment, and the staff team providing the labour. Previously ESV teams have done things such as gardening tasks, indoor and outdoor painting, litter picks or maybe helped with a foodbank collection – there are many possibilities and we’d be very happy to talk to you about any ideas you might have.

Ideally we’d like to build up a list of organisations who may be able to host an ESV activity over the coming months and get an idea about the tasks that might be involved, then as and when we get requests we can talk to you in more detail.

If you are interested in discussing this further please do get in touch with us.
