Lincolnshire Safeguarding Children Partnership and the Early Help Consultants are working together to deliver the Inter-Agency Safeguarding Children and Young People Course via eLearning and Virtual workshops.
The course will be made up of 4 eLearning modules and 3 virtual workshops available from 1st July 2020.
Module one – Introduction to safeguarding children in Lincolnshire – eLearning only
Identify the key principles of safeguarding
Explore the Lincolnshire safeguarding arrangements and the role of Lincolnshire
Safeguarding Children Partnership (LSCP)
Learning from Lincolnshire serious case reviews
Identify the support and resources available in Lincolnshire
Module two – The Voice of the child – eLearning and virtual workshop
Examine what the voice of the child is
Explore how and when we gain the voice of the child
Recognise where we should use the voice of the child
Identify barriers that get in the way of gathering the voice of the child
Module three – Early Help – eLearning and virtual workshop
Explore the role of early help in promoting the welfare of children and young people
Identify the tools required to complete an early help assessment
Demonstrate awareness of support available for practitioners completing an early help assessment
Understand the role of the practitioner, the child and the family within the early help assessment
Module four – Child in Need & Child Protection – eLearning and virtual workshop
Identify the statutory legislation in place to safeguard children
Examine the process of referral into children social care
Be aware of the importance of preparing for child protection conferences
Recognise how safety plans are integral to enabling children, families and practitioners to develop a plan to meet the needs of the family
You will book on and complete each module at your own convenience. Module 1 does not have a work shop. However at the end of modules 2, 3 and 4 you will be asked to select a 1 hour virtual workshop for each of these modules, where you will take part in a group discussion to support consolidation of learning.
When all four modules and three workshops are completed a certificate for the Inter Agency Safeguarding Children and Young People will be awarded, we recommend that you complete the full course within 6 weeks.
If you have completed the Interagency safeguarding Children and Young People face to face course in the last 6 years, you do not need to complete these modules. However if there are individual modules you would like to complete a certificate will be awarded for that module.
