Organisations and groups that support and help people manage their mental health and wellbeing are being invited to bid for the remaining community development fund.
Funding comes from the Mental Health Promotion Fund, which was established by Lincolnshire County Council and is managed by Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LPFT).
The fund aims to help adults who have experienced mental health problems to participate in a wide range of activities to help them recover and maintain as good a quality of life as possible.
Grants of up to £2,500 are open for application for those who meet one or more of the following outcomes:
- Information, advice and guidance
- Accessibility and transport
- Social isolation
- Early intervention and prevention
- Health and wellbeing
The beneficiaries will become part of Lincolnshire’s innovative Managed Care Network, a collection of community groups that offer support through various activities to help people recovering from mental ill health, or living with dementia.
The application process has been streamlined to make it even easier for interested parties to apply for funding. Visit the LPFT website for more information: www.lpft.nhs.uk/mental-health-promotion.
The deadline for applications is 5pm on Thursday 22nd November 2018.
If you have any queries on the application process please contact the Community Partnerships Team on 01529 222245/01529 222207 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Based on some of the queries the team received this year regarding the funding, there is additional information below that may help you.
Whilst salaries cannot be supported, we would support applications that included sessional work as part of an application. For example, a project worker, working 10 hours per week for 50 weeks. This activity could be supported as there is a clear beginning and end to the work and would not be a salaried, employed position.
Rent will not be a supported expense to a project, however, venue/room hire, for a maximum time of the duration of the project could be supported as long as a formal rental agreement is not entered in to. This could include hiring a village hall for 1 day per week for 50 weeks for example. Again, there would be a clear end date and no notice period to negotiate.
I don’t meet any of the outcomes, can I still apply?
Yes, you certainly can. Activity matching one or more of the outcomes will potentially score higher (depending on the strength of the application) however, that should not preclude you from developing projects that do not align with these outcomes.
