Some big news from Home-Start Lincolnshire
As a supporter of Home-Start Lincolnshire over the years we wanted to let you know that we are changing our name to Building Resilience In Communities, which we shall mostly refer to as ‘BRIC’.
The Board of Trustees and staff team have put a lot of work and thought into this, with support from an outside agency, as a result of the significant challenges that the charity has faced over recent years, mostly connected with funding. The decision to go with BRIC has been taken as we believe it is our best opportunity to secure the future of the home-visiting support for families and other projects that have been demonstrated to meet that you have helped us demonstrate as a vital source of support in the area. The rebranding allows us to launch a new vision and strategy that is up to date and relevant to local need.
This new direction removes our tie to the Home-Start network, which has been a difficult decision to make as we have been part of the Home-Start family for nearly 40 years. However, we feel that the time has come to remove our association. Recent changes to Home-Start UK’s strategies in securing funding have resulted in our parent organisation becoming our main competitor and their own rebranding and other decisions don’t support us locally to be sustainable for families in the future. We are leaving the network on good terms and wish everyone within it good luck in their endeavours.
Mostly, we want to reassure you that the new vision for BRIC focuses on us being able to continue to support local families through our amazing teams of volunteers, there will not be massive changes to what we do, we have proven that the approach works and we are sticking with it. Our vision is to be there for people at the earliest opportunity, and we are going to focus our efforts into reaching them before the crisis occurs and we hope that you will join us.
The decision means that BRIC is entirely based in the locality with no ties to a national body; this allows us to ensure that all of the support and donations that are secured locally are used to provide support to people and projects in your community, where we can ensure the best impact for the best possible value.
We will be sharing our new strategy shortly, but in the meantime you should begin to see our new logo (below) flying around and hope that you will help us in sharing it wider through social media if that’s your thing.
