Are you Currently Unemployed and Wanting to be Self Employed as a gardener?

Green Synergy are running a 12 week programme which can help you achieve this. You will get First Aid, Brushcutter and PA1 and PA6, 7 sessions on self-employment plus much more.

Open to those:
Over 16 years and unemployed/economically inactive

Individuals will be required to attend:
• 4 days at Abbey Access Training from Monday 28th September 2020
• Followed by practical sessions with Green Synergy gaining skills and practical experience in Gardening and Landscaping. From Tuesday 6th October 2020

Sessions run from 9:30am-1pm every Tues, Wed and Thurs. There is also wrap around, person centred support for participants whilst they are on the project. They have a newly built Polytunnel to keep them sheltered during the colder months and Green Synergy can provide you with waterproofs.

• Employability skills with a chance to update your CV
• Practical gardening activities on our Community garden including general maintenance and a hard landscaping group project.
• Strimmer/Brushcutter, PA1 and PA6 industry level qualifications plus a level 3 first aid qualification.
• Creating a personal action plan and timeline to reach the goals you set.
• Learning the knowledge and skills needed to operate as a neighbourhood gardener. They will cover the basics of gardening each week.
• Building on your confidence and self esteem
• The resources needed to seek further support and information as you go forwards.
• Understanding safeguarding and lone working and how to ensure you and the people you may work with are safe.
• Free PPE as required

In Addition , as part of the programme you will take part in 5 workshops around self employment
The workshops will highlight what you need to consider if you are thinking of setting up your own business and will start you on your way to completing your very own business plan, as well as signposting you to where you can go for further help.

This programme is free of charge if you’re are eligible for the project. Green Synergy are able to cover some volunteer expenses such as travel to the project.
