Parent support and personal development: As well as providing parents with 1-to-1 support with training/education, volunteering, and employment opportunities, they also still offer the online ‘Grow Your Own Confidence’ and ‘Opening Doors to Employment’ courses. These are delivered over Zoom (so no need to travel to an external venue) and they take place once a week for 4-weeks. Parents can then choose if they would like continued support from a Skills Offer following the course. If they are worried about the virtual platform, they can also support with this in advance.

Supporting parents with early child development, including social and communication skills: If you are currently working with families who have children 0-5 years, who are not currently attending their free Early Years sessions being delivered through the Children’s Centres, this is something they are keen to support. As Skills Development Officers they work closely with the Early Years Educators who are able to offer advice on the most appropriate sessions for families. Together they can arrange 1-to-1 meetings (Quiet time sessions), introduce them to the educators and hand hold them to their first meeting. They are also able to support with parents attending timetabled sessions so that they are equipped to support their child’s continued development.
