A NEW four-year programme supporting young people and local employers to increase youth employment is to launch this summer.
Social Housing provider Acis, has received almost £400,000 from The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK, to lead an innovative new youth employment programme across the West Lindsey district.
Launching in July, the Youth and Employer Support (YES) programme will be delivered in partnership with Voluntary Centre Services (VCS) to benefit around 200 young people and 100 employers.
Unemployed West Lindsey residents aged 16-30 will be able to receive free employability and lifestyle support as they search to find suitable, sustainable employment, while local employers will have access to a dedicated resource, making it easier to recruit skilled people in the area.
Hannah Taylor-Dales, Service Development Manager for Acis said: “We are delighted to have received this grant and can’t wait to start increasing opportunities for local young people through employment, training and skills development.
“It’s also a great chance for local employers to really understand the benefits of employing young people. We can work with them on a one to one basis to support them in providing opportunities for young people, not just their initial recruitment but also to sustain their long term employment.”

The National Lottery Community Fund distributes money raised by National Lottery players for good causes.
