THis is a message from Active Lincolnshire:
“I am delighted to invite you to join a free half day stakeholder event hosted by Active Lincolnshire; ‘Uniting the Movement in Lincolnshire’. Reserve your free tickets here. The event is on Tuesday 21 September at Active Arena, Lincoln from 10.00 – 13.00.
A charity funded by Sport England, Active Lincolnshire’s role is to support more people to be more active through a whole system approach. A more active population means a more prosperous economy, with a more productive workforce, more cohesive communities, less health inequalities and a reduction in the pressures the health service is facing, improved mental wellbeing and an improved start in life for children and young people who build skills, leadership, confidence and employability through sport and physical activity.
We are inviting a cross sector of organisations and leaders who play an influential part in the system in Lincolnshire and can help realise the potential of a more healthier population and tackle the challenge of inactivity. We are delighted to be joined by our key note speaker Mike Diaper, Executive Director of Sport England who will present the recently launched ‘Uniting the Movement’ national Sport England strategy.
We will also hear from insight and evidence expert Scott Hartley from Press Red who will present to us the picture in Lincolnshire and Ian Fytche, CEO of North Kesteven District Council who will provide insight into how North Kesteven has provided leadership and understanding to influence a more active place and provide options for people to be active. Ian will talk about the importance of committing to a shared vision through ‘Let’s Move Lincolnshire’ and the impact on improving health and wellbeing, building a net zero carbon future, and developing cohesive communities.
Following the presentations, round table discussion will provide you the opportunity to consider the positive impact of activity to the population and how we come together under the ‘Let’s Move Lincolnshire’ movement to support this critical agenda. The pandemic has of course had an unprecedented impact on everyone’s daily lives and the importance of tackling inequalities and building resilience through activity has never been more apparent.
Voluntary and community sector organisations, businesses, charities, sports and physical activity providers, leaders, influencers and decision makers are invited to join us for this free event.
