Jennie has been working for VCS since 2012. Throughout 2013 she led the PCC/Nesta-funded Lincolnshire Police 1000 Volunteer Project. After the completion of this project, she was appointed Joint Business Development Officer for VCS and our sister organisation LCVS, working on funding bids, quality assurance and monitoring, and developing joint working practices across Lincolnshire’s 7 Volunteer Centres to enhance the consistency of services delivered to both volunteers and community groups. She is also an external evaluator for Boston Mayflower’s Fit 4 Your Future project.
Before joining VCS, Jennie gained a broad range of experience across the voluntary, public and private sectors. She has managed a national volunteer team for GBSSG and project managed the conversion of the YHA licensed estate to the systems created by the Licensing Act 2003. She has also worked for BAE Systems, focusing on sustainable procurement in the defence industry and as part of the Eurofighter-Typhoon repairs team, as a Disability Support Worker for the University of Hull, and as a researcher in the House of Commons. When working in Accounts at Asda’s head office she led an invoice-receipt First Time Match Rate project, during which time the average daily FTMR increased by 5%. She was also responsible for monitoring NOF Lottery and DfES grants to over 300 childcare providers on behalf of Norfolk County Council. Through these roles she has gained experience in negotiation, budget management, research, project reporting, monitoring and evaluation and partnership working.
Jennie has a degree in War Studies and a Certificate in Social Sciences. She is a PTLLS (Level 3) qualified trainer, a Workplace Learning Advocate and has ILM Level 3 in Line Management and a NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Voluntary Sector Management. She has volunteered for a number of groups over the years, most recently for the Scouts Association, Metheringham Airfield Museum and the Lincolnshire War Memorials project.
