Mansions of the Future hosts a variety of regular social and creative talks, workshops, communal lunches and events. To support the delivery of this vibrant public programme, we’re seeking a highly motivated individual with the passion, confident communication and initiative to facilitate Front of House activity – welcoming guests, managing our Takeover venue bookings system, overseeing communications with our volunteers and assisting during events.
This is a part time, freelance position with a minimum contract of 8 hours per week, and an anticipated weekly workload of around 16 hours per week. The freelance contract requires flexibility for regular evening and weekend work and the appointed candidate would be responsible for managing their own tax.
You will report to the Director and will be working closely with the Producer Team (Curation and Participation) as well as liaising with artists, project partners, volunteers and a broader public. The post is part time and will involve some evening and weekend work, so flexibility will be required.
Mansions of the Future
Mansions of the Future (MOTF) is a dynamic project, bringing together artists and communities to share culture in and of Lincoln. With a design led, multifunctional public space developed by inaugural artist Kathin Böhm at its nerve centre, the three-year programme delivers a series of ambitious, interdisciplinary artistic commissions by renowned national and international artists alongside a generous programme of talks, workshops, events and communal lunches.
Working with the citizens of Lincoln, the three-year project explores themes of power and democracy – adopting a radical approach which privileges inherently social, site-specific, and collaborative ways of working. In collaboration with the Lincoln Cultural and Arts Partnership, Mansions of the Future is supported by Arts Council England’s Ambition for Excellence fund and partners across the region.
