Voluntary Centre Services are looking to recruit Social Prescribing Link Workers to cover the Lincoln North and Gainsborough areas.

Lincolnshire is an early adopter site for the NHS’s ambitious Community Mental Health Framework and Lincolnshire’s transformation of Community Mental Health Services.

Operating as part of the newly expanded Integrated Community Mental Health Care service working alongside the Neighbourhood team, the roles will be an integral part of the transformation sites across Lincolnshire. As part of this exciting programme, we are looking to recruit Social Prescribing Link Workers based in Lincoln & Gainsborough.

These roles will support people with enduring and severe mental ill health connect to community groups, support and services.

Social prescribing can help to strengthen personal resilience and communities, and reduces health inequalities by addressing the wider determinants of health, such as isolation, debt, poor housing and physical inactivity, by increasing people’s active involvement with their local communities.

You will build trusting relationships with people at all levels, connect them to community groups and Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations and services as well as work with partners to provide support to organisations involved in social prescribing.

You must be a good listener, have time for people and be committed to supporting local communities to care for each other. You should have experience of working positively with people facing complex social and emotional challenges as well as have great interpersonal skills and ability to support people, community groups and local organisations.

This is a permanent full-time post funded via the Mental Health Transformation Project.

Salary £22,970 per annum

Full time (35 hours per week)

Annual Leave entitlement 29 days per year (pro rata)
