RAF Scampton is located north of Lincoln and currently houses 700+ whole force personnel.  The Unit is made up of Service personnel within Battlespace Management, Mobile Meterological Unit, Red Arrows as well as other military personnel who make up Base Support.  Most of the serving personnel live at RAF Scampton on the site.  RAF Scampton is due to close by Dec 2022.

Up until recently, there was a Coffee Shop which was situated within the Barnes Wallis Community Centre on Station.  Due to COVID-19 and other Station issues, the Coffee Shop was closed in August and the member of staff was made redundant.  This however has now left a gap in provision whilst trying to support their Service personnel and families.  Through recent consultation we have found that the Coffee Shop had a pivotal role in drawing people into the Community Centre who would then engage with Community Support Team staff.  They are slowly reopening the Community Centre to families and to those who wish to hold meetings and training courses.

They are looking at an agency or an individual who would be willing to run the Coffee Shop on a “self help/voluntary” basis.  There is no renumeration but they may be able to look at travelling expenses.  An agency or an individual with a background in catering within a small environment would be beneficial as would someone who currently holds a Food Hygiene Certificate.  Please see attached photographs of the Coffee Shop. If anyone is interested in discussing this further, please contact Gill angel directly at: gill.angel484@mod.gov.uk

Thank you.
